On Tuesday, April 28, Ben Brown’s four children were involved in a serious car accident near their home in Perry, IA. Two of his daughters, Claire (5) and Lindsay (8), died later at the hospital. His oldest daughter, Katelyn (11), and his son, Eli (4), were seriously injured. Both were transported to local hospitals, where Katelyn remains in stable condition. Eli was discharged and is now home with his dad.
We are heartbroken for Ben and his family and know that many of you are as well. While absolutely nothing can fill the hole left by Claire and Lindsay’s passing, your support can help provide a path forward for Ben, Katelyn and Eli.
Below we have different areas you can contribute. Ben has requested for additional family photos, we have started a meal train and linked to the GoFundMe account for his family.
Your donations will help them meet very real financial needs – medical bills, meals, counseling services and, yes, funeral expenses – while also sending a message of support and encouragement to the Brown family.
We invite you to share with your friends, family and colleagues. Ben is a man who would never ask for anything, now is our chance to give him everything we can.
Funeral services for Lindsay and Claire Brown will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Perry High School Performing Arts Center (1200 18th St, Perry, IA 50220).
Everyone who attends is asked to wear a face mask and to practice social distancing. *ONLY 100 PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM* Those who don’t feel well or are unable to attend are invited to watch the service live (check the Carris Funeral Home website for the link at the time of the service).
Burial will take place at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry following the service. Due to the limiting circumstances, there will be an extended processional, the details of which are still being determined
